[01]Intel gathered
Vaccine skepticism has never reached this high up in government before. And the public’s most recent brush with vaccines was COVID — a rollout that turned messy fast and left the whole conversation polarized. Anti-vaccine sentiment got louder. The much larger group who still believed in childhood vaccination didn’t.
The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) realized they needed to remind both policymakers and parents that vaccines — particularly childhood vaccines — are a major part of keeping America healthy.
[02]The angle
Most people today don’t remember polio, smallpox, or whooping cough. But these diseases devastated families — and put life, liberty, the economy, and even national security at stake.
The conversation around vaccines had gotten loud and contentious. What it hadn’t gotten was human. We saw a chance to remind people what vaccination actually protects: not policy, not politics, but children, families, and communities.

[01][05] the fine print
To reach people wherever they stood, we brought in every discipline we had. We tested messages against wildly different audiences. We dug through historical archives for the right imagery. And we found media placements that could speak to a niche audience while still feeling like part of something bigger.
At the center of it all was a single film — Protect America's Future, Save the Lives You Love — paired with real data on what vaccines have done for this country. All campaign materials led to a custom landing page showing the impact of vaccines over time.
