Privacy Policy

This privacy statement was last changed on September 17, 2026, last checked on September 17, 2026, and applies to citizens and legal permanent residents of the United States.

In this privacy statement, we explain what we do with the data we obtain about you via https://worstkeptsecret.com. We recommend you carefully read this statement. In our processing we comply with the requirements of privacy legislation. That means, among other things, that:

  • we clearly state the purposes for which we process personal data. We do this by means of this privacy statement;
  • we aim to limit our collection of personal data to only the personal data required for legitimate purposes;
  • we first request your explicit consent to process your personal data in cases requiring your consent;
  • we take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data and also require this from parties that process personal data on our behalf;
  • we respect your right to access your personal data or have it corrected or deleted, at your request.

If you have any questions, or want to know exactly what data we keep of you, please contact us.

1. Purpose and categories of data

We may collect or receive personal information for a number of purposes connected with our business operations which may include the following:

1.1 Compiling and analyzing statistics for website improvement

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, in what order, from what kind of device and browser, and which site or search referred you. Google Analytics does not store your IP address; it derives an approximate location (country, region, city) from it and discards it. Measurement is on when you arrive and you can turn it off at any time — see section 4 and our Opt-Out Preferences page.

The following categories of data are collected:

  • Internet activity information, including, but not limited to, browsing history, search history, and information regarding a consumer’s interaction with an Internet Web site, application, or advertisement.

Retention period: upon termination of the service we retain this data for the following period: 14 months.

1.2 Contact — through phone, mail, email and/or webforms

This website has no accounts or logins. The only personal information you give us is what you choose to send through its forms: the contact form (your name, email address, the subject of your message and the message itself, and optionally your company name), the job application (your name, email address and phone number, and anything you choose to include in your application), and the data request form on the Opt-Out Preferences page (your name, email address and the request you are making). Form entries are delivered to us by email and stored in our own content management system so we can respond to you.

The following categories of data are collected:

  • A first and last name
  • An email address
  • A telephone number

Retention period: we determine the retention period according to fixed objective criteria: as long as needed to respond to the enquiry or consider the application, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, after which entries are deleted.

2. Sharing with other parties

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We only share or disclose this data to processors and service providers that are necessary for the fulfillment of our service, under agreements that limit what they may do with it:

  • Google — Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for measurement, and Google Maps to show our office location on the Contact page. See the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Vimeo — plays the videos on this site. Our players are embedded with Do Not Track enabled. See the Vimeo Privacy Policy.
  • Our hosting and email providers, which store the site and deliver form entries to us.

3. Disclosure practices

We disclose personal information if we are required by law or by a court order, in response to a law enforcement agency, to the extent permitted under other provisions of law, to provide information, or for an investigation on a matter related to public safety.

If our website or organization is taken over, sold, or involved in a merger or acquisition, your details may be disclosed to our advisers and any prospective purchasers and will be passed on to the new owners.

4. How we respond to Do Not Track signals & Global Privacy Control

Our website responds to and supports the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal and the Do Not Track (DNT) header request field. If your browser sends either, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of measurement — automatically, with no further steps: no analytics code is loaded, and any analytics cookies already placed are removed. Most modern browsers and privacy extensions can send the GPC signal; see globalprivacycontrol.org for how to turn it on.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. For more information about cookies, please refer to our Cookie Policy on our Opt-Out Preferences webpage, where you can also switch measurement off for this browser.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google. Google may not use the data for any other Google services. The inclusion of full IP addresses is blocked by us.

6. Security

We are committed to the security of personal data. We take appropriate security measures to limit abuse of and unauthorized access to personal data. This ensures that only the necessary persons have access to your data, that access to the data is protected, and that our security measures are regularly reviewed.

7. Third-party websites

This privacy statement does not apply to third-party websites connected by links on our website. We cannot guarantee that these third parties handle your personal data in a reliable or secure manner. We recommend you read the privacy statements of these websites prior to making use of these websites.

8. Amendments to this privacy statement

We reserve the right to make amendments to this privacy statement. It is recommended that you consult this privacy statement regularly in order to be aware of any changes. In addition, we will actively inform you wherever possible.

9. Accessing and modifying your data

If you have any questions or want to know which personal data we have about you, please contact us — through the data request form on our Opt-Out Preferences page, or by using the information below. Please make sure to always clearly state who you are, so that we can be certain that we do not modify or delete any data of the wrong person. We shall provide the requested information only upon receipt of a verifiable consumer request, and will respond within 45 days; if we need more time, we will tell you why. You may make a request through an authorized agent, in which case we may ask for proof that you gave them permission.

9.1 You have the following rights with respect to your personal data

  • You may submit a request for access to the data we process about you.
  • You may object to the processing.
  • You may request an overview, in a commonly used format, of the data we process about you.
  • You may request correction or deletion of the data if it is incorrect or not or no longer relevant, or to ask to restrict the processing of the data.
  • You may appeal our decision whenever we refuse to take action on a request and submit a complaint with the competent authority if your appeal is denied.

9.2 Supplements

This section, which supplements the rest of this Privacy Statement, applies to citizens and legal permanent residents of California (CPRA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Delaware (PDPA), Maryland (MODPA) and Virginia (CDPA).
